GET TO KNOW OUR STUDIO

Answers to FAQs

I'm new to the studio.
How do I get started?

The best and most personalized way to acclimate yourself to our studio equipment and offerings is through a private session.  Each private training is tailored to your exact needs, goals and pace, and may be focused on reformer, rebounder, mat work or any combination.  It allows us to get to know your needs and offer modifications that you may bring to group classes.  Because we feel so strongly about the benefits of one-on-one coaching, we offer a new student intro package of two private training sessions for $139, open to any guest who has not yet taken private lessons with us.

If you are in good condition and prefer to jump right into group classes, our Foundations classes are the place to start.  We strongly recommend a minimum of five Reformer Foundations classes (or instructor approval) before guests new to reformer move into our mixed level group Reformer classes, which assume some experience, knowledge of the exercises and safety protocols.

I forgot my mat, socks or yoga pants.

You can borrow a mat free of charge for yoga and all mat classes.

Our boutique stocks brands including alo yoga and Beyond Yoga for leggings, as well as grippy socks. We usually have loaner socks you may use if you don't want to purchase a new pair.

How often should I take a reformer class?

More than frequency, consistency is the key!  We recommend one to three sessions per week.  Many find three sessions per week is when they started to be able to feel and see dramatic changes in their body. Once a week can be a good place to start and/or use Pilates as cross training to strengthen your alignment and enhance performance in other forms of fitness.

What is the benefit of a private training session vs. group class?

In addition to being the ideal way to begin your journey with our equipment and studio offerings, continued private sessions are a great fit for those who have a specific fitness goal, or who have a low back or other condition that may require special attention or modifications.  It is also highly beneficial as an occasional complement to regular participation in group classes, to  ensure you're getting the most benefit out of the exercises, or simply where personal attention is valued to create a tailored workout just for you.

Can I walk-in for class or drop by for any other reason?

All class sizes are limited and online reservations required.  Registration closes 30 minutes before class.  Please complete the waiver form you'll receive upon your first registration prior to arriving at the studio.

To ensure we have a staff member available to assist you, we do require advance notice for appointments and all other in-person inquiries.  Please call or email us at the studio to set up a time.  Our studio door remains closed when we are in-session with guests.

Do I need to tip?

For massage therapy a standard 20% gratuity will be added to your bill upon completion of your service for your therapist.

What do I bring?

A water bottle!  And for reformer class socks are required.  If you need a pair we sell grippy socks at the studio, just plan to arrive a few minutes early.  We have mats and props you may borrow in our mat classes.  Please wipe down borrowed items and equipment at the end of class.

Do I need to take my shoes off?

YES please!  We are a shoes-off studio (however if you require shoes due to a physical condition or injury, we are happy to make exception!).

Socks are required only for reformer classes. Please leave shoes and coats at the door.  Please do not leave valuables in the entry.

When should I plan to arrive?  What if I'm running late?

Please plan to arrive no more than ten minutes early. In general our doors open ten minutes prior to class and appointment times for guests to check in and get comfortable. The studio door is closed while we are in-session with other guests.

Group classes begin promptly and we regret that we cannot guarantee accommodation to guests arriving late.  We must lock the front door for certain group classes to ensure a safe and uninterrupted experience for those in attendance and in addition your spot may be released to a guest waiting stand-by.

How do I cancel and what happens if I can't make it?

We understand things happen and offer a flexible cancellation policy for studio credit up until 24 hours before your booking.  Up until that time you may use our app, Spaces by Wix, or contact the studio, to reschedule or cancel any booking.  If you need to cancel less than 24 hours before your booking time please email us at info@pranalifestudio.com.  Due to the limited availability of our offerings, please be aware that we cannot issue credit for cancellations received with less than 24 hours notice.  Please review the late cancellation policies for class packages at the time or purchase for any applicable late cancellation fee.  On-location private services are subject to the cancellation parameters provided on booking.  For spa appointments a $50 rebooking fee will apply.

We assume all cancellations are fault-free and you never need to explain yourself.  Likewise we thank you for understanding the studio's cancellation policies must apply in all cases in fairness to the rest of the community, including staff and those turned away while we saved your spot.

I have a group and I'd like to create a private class, retreat or spa day.

Great- that’s our specialty!  Please take a look at our privates/groups page for more information and email us at info@pranalifestudio.com with what you’re looking for.  We can also help create an itinerary for your group to enjoy multiple of our offerings for a retreat or special occasion.  We can host you in the studio or travel to your location (additional fee may apply).
