GET TO KNOW OUR STUDIO
Answers to FAQs
How do I get started?
We want to set you up for success! Personal training is the ideal first step to get to know our offerings and equipment, and is essential if you are brand new to pilates, or if you might need a modified program due to an injury or condition. Personalized instruction allows us to focus on your exact pace, goals, alignment and any modifications to support you and ensure a maximally beneficial continued practice.
We so believe in the benefits of one-on-one coaching at the beginning of your journey with us, we offer a new student intro package of ONE private training session plus TWO group classes for $139 (a savings of $70). This offer is perfect for getting started, however it is open to all guests (limit one per person or duet, please).
Can I start with a group class?
If you are already in good physical condition, have at least some prior experience in a movement modality, and you are comfortable starting with group-focused, quicker-paced instruction where personalized consultation may not be possible. If you have an injury or other condition affecting your practice, we ask that you call us to discuss whether group classes would be a fit before signing up.
For reformer, Reformer Foundations classes are the place to start. We require a minimum of five Reformer Foundations classes (or instructor approval) before guests brand new to reformer move into our 1/2 mixed level group Reformer classes, which assume some experience, knowledge of the exercises and safety protocols.
Please refer to our class descriptions for more detailed information on yoga and mat class offerings to guide you toward the right fit. To help ensure everyone has a positive group class experience, please call us with any questions!
I have a group and I'd like to create a private class, retreat or spa day.
Great- that’s our specialty! Please take a look at our privates/groups page for more information and email us at info@pranalifestudio.com with what you’re looking for. We can also help create an itinerary for your group to enjoy multiple of our offerings for a retreat or special occasion. We can host you in the studio or travel to your location.
What do I bring?
Socks are required in reformer class, otherwise we are a shoes-off studio. If you need shoes due to an injury or condition, we are happy to make an exception.
We sell grip socks at the studio and usually have a couple pairs available to borrow.
Jade Yoga mats and small towels to borrow are included with your reservation. Please wipe down your mat after class with the spray provided.
For our heated classes, bring a water bottle (we have a filling station) and a towel or yogitoes grip mat. We have small towels available as a courtesy and larger towels available for rent.
How often should I take a class?
More than frequency, consistency is the key! We recommend one to three+ classes per week depending on your goals. Many find three sessions per week is when they started to be able to feel and see dramatic changes in their body. Once a week can be a good place to start and/or use pilates and yoga as cross training to strengthen your alignment and enhance performance in other forms of fitness.
What is the benefit of a private training session vs. group class?
In addition to being the ideal way to begin your journey with our equipment and studio offerings, continued private sessions are a great fit for those who love one-on-one coaching, have a specific fitness goal, or who have a low back or other condition that may require special attention or modifications. It is also highly beneficial as an occasional complement to regular participation in group classes, to ensure you're getting the most benefit out of the exercises, or simply where personal attention is valued to create a tailored workout just for you.
Can I walk-in or drop by for any reason?
Online reservations are required as all class sizes are limited. Please sign up by 8 PM the evening before a morning class, and by noon the day of an evening class to avoid last-minute time pressure. Note too that if we have fewer than two guests signed up at those junctures, class may be cancelled. During in-demand seasons, weekends and holidays we recommend saving your spot in advance.
We prioritize our guest's needs and privacy and for that reason we regret that we do accommodate tours and drop-in inquiries without a reservation.
How is tipping handled for spa services?
For your convenience a customary, discretionary 20% gratuity will be added to your bill upon completion of any bodywork service for your massage therapist. All major credit cards are accepted.
When should I arrive? What if I'm running late?
Please plan to arrive no more than ten minutes early. In general our doors open ten minutes prior to class and appointment times for guests to check in and get comfortable. The studio door is closed while we are in-session with other guests.
Group classes begin promptly and we regret that we cannot guarantee accommodation to guests arriving late. We must lock the front door for certain group classes to ensure a safe and uninterrupted experience for those in attendance and in addition your spot may be released to a guest waiting stand-by.
What's the cancellation policy?
Unfortunately your reservation is forfeited if you cannot cancel or reschedule ahead of 24 hours. We uphold this bright line in all cases since our small group classes run or cancel, and instructors are compensated, based on your sign-up at that time. You might consider offering the spot you paid for to a friend. We appreciate you emailing to let us know.
We offer flexible rescheduling and cancellation for studio credit up until 24 hours before any booking, and during that window you may use our mobile app, Spaces by Wix (join"pranalifestudio"), or contact the studio, to reschedule or cancel any booking.
We thank you for understanding this policy applies in all cases, including mistake and illness. On-location private services are subject to the cancellation parameters provided on booking. For spa appointments a $50 rebooking fee will apply.
